Pottery workshops and courses - Facilitation, Training and Product Development

We offer workshops to educational institutions, colleges and development programmes including consultancy and facilitation in all aspects of the development and promotion of studio pottery as well as training and product development.

We also conduct various types of courses and workshops both at our studio in Swellendam and at other venues.

The workshops and courses cover all aspects of the art of high temperature, reduction-fired pottery and we are able to tailor a workshop to any group’s particular interest or requirements.

The spacious and well-equipped studio allows us to accommodate groups of up to eight people at a time.

Some other workshop options:

	A one or two day introduction workshop which can be as structured or informal as the participants prefer. These shorter courses are provided with the holiday-maker or tourist in mind.
	Weekend getaways, tailored for those who wish to escape the city for a weekend in the country, working with clay.
	A five day structured course covering pre-arranged aspects of studio pottery where the participants may choose to spend the time being coached in specific areas e.g. throwing, hand-work, throwing large pieces, decoration, firing etc.

Accommodation and Catering

The self-contained cottage on our premises can accommodate four people in two double en-suite rooms.

Swellendam is an established and beautiful tourist destination and we can arrange additional accommodation at B&B or self-catering establishments nearby.

Lunch as well as morning and afternoon tea/coffee will be provided for the duration of the workshop.

Additional catering can be arranged.
