Swellendam Here are some pictures of life in Swellendam - scenery & landscape, buildings, people and activities which we will change from time to time ...
Swellendam is an attractive small town in the Western Cape region of South Africa about 220 km east of Cape Town, and about halfway between Cape Town and the Garden Route on the N2 National Road. There is much to see and do, places of interest and places for 'getting away from it all'. From the significant Marloth Nature Reserve and Bontebok National Park, the Langeberg Mountains and their hiking and horse trails, fishing and boating on the Breede River, Buffeljagts Dam, and the nearby Southern Cape coast, to the historic old buildings and Drostdy Museum Complex. Ancient oak trees line the streets in the older parts of town. Great accommodation and restaurants to suit all budgets, and not forgetting Swelllendam's popular Fairy Sanctuary, galleries, interesting and unusual people, and other 'Secrets of Swellendam'. For full listings of accommodation facilities and information about activities and places of interest in and around Swellendam, and 'things to do', there is a link to Swellendam Tourism on our Links Page. Also on our links page a small selection of local accommodation venues and restaurants.
Treat everyone with politeness; even those who are rude to you, not because they are not nice, but because you are nice ...
